In French,
pomme means apple
de terre means earthen
but pomme de terre
just means potato.
By the way, this is my public blog! This is where I cross-post posts I've written that are more consciously targeted towards a public audience. The template is the same as my regular blog, though, in case you wanted to know.
Graceface here. Sagittarius. Singaporean. MGS'01-'10. MGS
Drama Society Society of Dramatic Arts '07-'10. ACS(I) 5.12'11 - 6.12'12. ACSIS '11-'12. !nk '11-'12
- Singaporean, but somewhat on the periphery of things.
- A little of a writer, editor, actress, student, etc., but mostly and above all a dreamer.
- An obsessive introspective of the self-centred and vaguely exhibitionist variety. Hence the blog.
- Obsessed with words and how they work.
- Ignorant and uncomfortably aware of it. Also in denial about it.
- Very young, very immature.
- Easily crushed by feeling.
I write because I can't break the habit.
Grief / Thin
Tuesday, 10 April 2012 17:33
During the wake my father would not stop telling his death story. How he was the last one by his father's side. How he read Psalms 23 to him and always repeated the last verse "I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." How his last words to him were "Have a good rest now, Dad" and the next morning his breathing and heart just slowed down and stopped. How my father did not cry at all throughout the wake and funeral. In public.
Was he proud or did he regret it? What he said?

Grief / Knocking on the Symbolist Door
17:15
Your words hang heavy. I watch you almost in disbelief, I stare hard like I'm paying attention, but in some morbid sadist way I'm waiting to see if you break, under those heavy heavy words. You talk about snow in Ireland and you are almost hypernormal, or maybe it's because I'm staring too hard that your eyes actually seem brighter than usual, your gaze stronger. The snow presses on my eyeballs and so do your words.
The only thing I can really call different about you today is your haircut, shorn around the scalp like a blanket far too thin.
